Hi Guys.  Happy Monday. It's Mrs. Pfefferlen here welcome back I hope that you've all enjoyed a great spring break and I'm super excited because today is the day that we are welcoming more students onto campus we have some returning in a variety of grade levels for the first time and we also have our 5th through 8th grade students returning to full day learning so that's super exciting. In addition there are several teachers who are coming back today for the first time so welcome everyone we are making more and more strides to bringing our whole community back and it's really exciting and feels really good over the next few weeks we will continue to add more students and lengthen days and just a little reminder that these next two weeks there will not be any minimum days but starting after that there will be minimum days on Tuesdays and Thursdays It took a lot of work to get our campus ready for more students and full day learning so I want to give a quick shout-out to Oscar and Oscar Jr. and Aaron for all of their hard work as well as to the Bellarmine volunteers who were on campus last week helping us. As I said it was a big undertaking and we appreciate everyone's efforts let's start by talking about conscious acts of kindness I want to keep our momentum going we had Arya who shared that she helped a new student to in-person learning she helped them learn the ropes by showing them the hand sanitizer and how to use the lines to get to class. We also had Ellie who picked up trash around campus to help our campus looking clean and we want to continue to be thinking about conscious acts of kindness and doing them wherever we can even if we don't log them we know that they're still going on.  We want to thank everyone who has contributed and donated to our Sweet Deals fundraiser Today is the day that the shopping begins so be sure to log into the padlet and check out the great deals on bikes and scooters and other items remember all proceeds go to help CSMH. Today is the day that we get to announce the winner of our March Madness competition you can see in my Virtual Office I have our two finalists on my bulletin board and Harriet Tubman was our ultimate winner however I do want to acknowledge that every every one of the 16 women had amazing efforts and contributions to our world and so I know for me it was really hard each week to just pick one winner but it was an incredible opportunity to learn about these women and all of their contributions so we salute Harriet Tubman and of course all her work with the Underground Railroad and I also think about all of Katherine Johnson's accomplishments and how she may be was able to do what she did because of Harriet Tubman who came before her and I think about all of the contributions that future women will make because of the work that these women did so again thank you for learning with us and for voting each week and participating in this journey to honor these incredible women. We had many birthdays that occurred over the break so bear with me I have a little bit of a list here. Happy belated birthday to Sarah in 4th grade To-Nhu in 7th grade, Nathan in 8th grade, Kayli in 1st grade, Sergio in 6th grade, Emery in Kinder, Lilyana in 2nd grade, Jackson in 7th grade, Jackson in Kinder, Alyssa in 7th Benjamin in 1st and Asher in 2nd and also Maestra Harman. Again, happy belated birthday to all of you Today we have Maddox in 4th grade and tomorrow Ryder in 1st grade and Jakob in 6th grade happy birthday and we wish you a wonderful year ahead I can't leave you without a quick tip to help stop the spread of Covid this Wednesday will be our next on-site testing day so if you haven't done so already please sign up to do a covid test it is quick it is painless it helps keep our community safe so sign up and in addition as more and more students are coming back to campus we need to continue to be diligent we need to remind each other the importance of staying in our cohorts and following all of those safety protocols so with that I will leave you I wish you a great day of learning a wonderful week ahead and I will see you again soon take care
