Cheetah Athletic Program

After School Athletics

The Cheetah Athletics program is open to all eligible Middle School (grades 7th-8th) student athletes. We participate in the San Benito Athletic League which is comprised of both public and private schools with similar sized enrollments. Participating schools include: Charter School of Morgan Hill, Aromas, Sacred Heart, San Juan, Southside, Spring Grove, Tres Pinos, Crossroads, Oakwood, Pacific Point, Gilroy Prep School and San Martin Gwinn.

We offer four seasons of athletic opportunities:

Fall	September – October	Girls Volleyball Boys Flag Football	7^th & 8^th grades 7^th & 8^th grades
Winter	November – December	Boys Soccer Girls Basketball	7^th/8^th grade combo 7^th & 8^th grades
Winter	January - March	Boys Basketball Girls Soccer	6^th, 7^th & 8^th grades 7^th/8^th grade combo
Spring	April – May	Cross Country Track & Field Coed Volleyball	6^th/7^th/8^th grade combo 6^th/7^th/8^th grade combo 8^th grade

All Athletes must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA with no "F" grade. Student athletes must be in excellent behavioral standing.

Intramurals

Lunch time recess games, tournaments and activities for grades 4-8 including, Volleyball, Flag Football, pogo and ultimate frisbee tournaments, students vs teachers volleyball tournament, capture the flag and the Amazing Race!

CSMH will play host to another talented group of athletes in what has become a League tradition! Under the lights of the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Complex, the SBAL teams will battle for the league Championship trophy!

Charter School Junior Olympics Invitational

Every Olympic year the Charter School of Morgan Hill participates in this region-wide Olympic event. In partnership with Bullis Charter School in Palo Alto and other charter schools In the Bay Area region, over 800 student athletes, from grades K-8th, gather to compete in the spirit of community and collaboration! An authentic Olympic torch is passed from school to school in the weeks leading up to the big event! The Opening Ceremonies includes a final torch run, the parade of athletes, musical performances and a ribbon dance by each school. Athletes exchange school wrist bands with other athletes at the event! Actual Olympic medal winners are present to hand out the medals to all of the student medal winners!

The Annual Spring Track Meet

CSMH is the host of the annual San Benito Athletic League Track and Field Invitational. Over 400 student athletes from grades 6-8th compete in annual event. Running events include, 70 yard hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m and the 1600m distances. There are two relays, the 4x100 and the 4x400 team races. Field events include the high jump, long jump, shot put and Javelin.
