Hi guys it's Mrs. Pfefferlen here happy Monday. I hope that you've all enjoyed a great weekend wow what amazing weather we had I spent some time in my backyard getting ready to do some planting and I hope that you noticed in my Virtual Office lots of plants this morning because I placed my order for the plant sale the plant sale starts tomorrow if you have not already placed your order please support our amazing 5th graders and Mrs. Funke  and all the hard work that they've done and place an order remember all the proceeds go to support our school so get the word out. Anyone and everyone are welcome. Today we are kicking off our spirit week I have a little bit of neon on today and I hope you do as well and whether you're in person or doing virtual learning I hope that you are showing your school spirit and please take a moment to post a picture on the padlet. Tomorrow is Disney day so dust off all your Disney wear and get ready for tomorrow. We can't start the week without talking about kindness keeping our conscious acts of kindness on the forefront we didn't have anything new on the padlet this week but we did have an amazing act come from the Mistry family who brought little care packages for all of the staff who were getting ready to have their second dose of the vaccine last week so a little shout out to them. Also all of these amazing donations are coming in for our Sweet Deals fundraiser so thanks to all of you who are donating that is surely an act of kindness both to the Earth and to the school so we sure appreciate that. Wednesday is the deadline to make a card or write a note to show support and appreciation for healthcare workers in our community remember there's a box right outside the gate for you to put them in. We will be having a virtual building activity for students in Kinder through 3rd grade after school. Students in 2nd and 3rd are invited today please be sure to come prepared with your building materials, Legos or what other building materials you have and the times and the link can be found in the morning announcement email. We're getting ready to welcome back more students to campus after spring break Oscar and Aaron have been super busy building desks and we need some help painting them so if you are able to volunteer you can check out the announcement in today's email and it'll give you more details. We have the results of the Elite 8 and are moving on to the Final Four Here we go Amelia Earhart came in over Bessie Coleman we had Harriet Tubman over Jane Goodall we had Katherine Johnson just barely over Michelle Obama and Ruth Bader Ginsburg came in over Rosa Parks. Gosh it's so hard because these are all amazing women who have influenced our lives but advancing to the Final Four Amelia Earhart Harriet Tubman, Katherine Johnson and Ruth Bader Ginsburg okay so you have until Wednesday at noon to help your favorites advance so be sure to vote and result of the top two finalists for the championship round will be announced on Thursday April 1st. Okay we have some birthdays to celebrate. Today we have Allie in 1st grade tomorrow Tuesday we have Angeliza in 4th grade and we have Diana in 5th grade .  Can't leave you without a safety reminder to help stop the spread of covid and I just really want you to consider spring break coming up next week and continue to think about the broader community. We also have our next on campus testing day on covid testing day on April 14th so more students will be returning after the break it's really important that we take advantage of this testing opportunity on campus to help keep our community safe.
