Student supplies list:

Be sure to put your child's name on all supplies they will be keeping
(not those labeled "shared item")

• One 12-pk Post-it notes (1.5" X 2")
• Two 3-ring, 2-inch wide binders (1 for Eng/Hist, 1 for Math/Science)
• One 3-ring, 1-inch wide binder
• Two packages of binder dividers, 8 tabs
• Two packages index cards, 3x5 ruled
• Two pencil pouches w/ zipper for a 3-ring binder
• One pencil sharpener w/ shavings catcher
• One box of blue ink pens
• One box of black ink pens
• Several highlighters (assorted colors)
• One fine-tip black Sharpie marker
• One box crayons
• One box colored washable markers
• One box colored pencils
• Two large .21 oz glue sticks (shared item)
• One 4-oz bottle Elmers glue (shared item)
• Student planner - can be purchased in the school office
• 5 spiral-bound 1-subject 70-pg notebooks (Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Science, & Mathematics)
• One box of 1 dozen #2 pencils
• One pair of scissors
• One 12" ruler with inch and metric markings
• Simple calculator
• One compass (for math, good quality)
• One 6-inch protractor (for math, good quality)
• One pink eraser
• Four hard-bound Composition Books (science "lab book" type with "marbled" cover for Science, Math, English)
• One graph paper notebook bound on the side, not on the top (size: 4 squares measures one inch across)
• One package of wide-ruled lined paper (one for the student's 3 ring binder, and one for classroom use)
• One roll of paper towels (shared item)
• One box of Kleenex (shared item)
• Hand sanitizer (shared item)
• One pocket dictionary and one pocket thesaurus OR one combination of the two (small paperback(s) to bring daily for English)
• USB Memory Stick (portable memory for computer work. 128MB is a sufficient size. These are available at Target, and at all office supply and electronics stores. The price is regularly $10 to $20 – don’t spend more. Watch for "Back To School" sales. Bring yours to school every day in your pencil pouch. Save ALL typed homework and school computer work on your stick)
• Internet Access (at home, or ready access to library, tutoring center, office, or other source.) Students will do significant amounts of homework using the Internet throughout the year.
• Note: Lockers will be provided to each 6th grade student, and locks will also be provided so there is no need to purchase one.

All students should BRING the items from the above list to school on the first day – and EVERY DAY. Please LABEL each of the following items with the name of the student visible on the outside!

• Backpack (labeled with your name)
• English dictionary and thesaurus (labeled with the student's name)
• 2 Binders -one for Math/Science and one for Eng/Hist (labeled with the student's name) – containing lined paper; with pencil pouch – containing pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, blue or black pen, colored pen, highlighter, ruler, scissors, memory stick)
• Lunch container (reusable is preferred; labeled with name)
