CSMH Middle School Supply List

Please label your supplies – make your name easy to read on the outside of each item.

Please read the (number; and important product details) listed below.

Please purchase recycled material products whenever possible. Thank you.

  • 3-Ring Binder with pockets, 2-inch width (One. This is your Resource Binder that holds your assignment book, class handouts, and pencil pouch. Label it with your name.)
  • Accordion-Style Folder (One. This is your Homework File. Use it to organize and turn in your homework. Label it with your name.)
  • 3-Ring Binder, 2-inch width (One. This is your Spanish portfolio. Label it with your name)
  • Binder Dividers (Two packages.)
  • Pencil Pouch w/zipper for a 3-ring binder (One. Your Resource Binder MUST have a pencil pouch attached to it - with a supply of pencils, pens, etc. - that you take to every class.)
  • Pencil Sharpener w/shavings catcher (One; label with your name.)
  • Pens (Two with blue or black ink.)
  • Pens (Two with colored ink - such as green or purple - for editing and correcting.)
  • Highlighters (Several in assorted colors.)
  • Colored Pencils OR Crayons OR Colored Markers (One box; bring for your homeroom.)
  • White Board Markers (One box; "Low Odor," bring for your homeroom.)
  • Glue Stick (One; bring for your homeroom.)
  • Pencils (48 "Number Two" pencils; bring 24 for your homeroom, put some in your pencil pouch, keep some at home.)
  • Scissors (One pair; for your pencil pouch – label with your name.)
  • Ruler (One, with inch & metric markings; for your pencil pouch – label with your name.)
  • Compass and Protractor (One of each; for your pencil pouch - label with your name.)
  • Pink Eraser (One; for your pencil pouch – label with your name.)
  • [Optional: 3-Hole Punch (One; strip-type that fits in a 3-ring binder.)]
  • Hard-bound Composition Books (Five; these are the "science lab book" type notebooks with "marbled" covers; for English, Science, Spanish, and Ag. Science.)
  • Graph Paper Notebook (One; bound on the side, not on the top. Size: 4 squares measures one inch across.)
  • Spiral Notebook (One; single-subject - 100 pages only - for History.)
  • Lined Paper (Two packages; bring one for homeroom, put one in your Resource Binder.)
  • Card Stock (One package; 8 1/2 by 11 inch size, for Spanish.)
  • "Page Post-Its" for indexing book pages (One package; any colors, for English.)
  • Index Cards (Two packages; your choice of 3x5 or 5x7, for English.)
  • Construction Paper (One package; 8 1/2 by 11 or larger, color variety, for English.)
  • Kleenex (Two boxes; recycled preferred, bring for your homeroom.)
  • Pocket Spanish-English Dictionary (One; bring daily for Spanish, label with your name.)
  • Pocket Dictionary AND Pocket Thesaurus OR one combination of the two (One or two small paperback(s) to bring daily for English; label with your name.)
  • USB Memory Stick (One; portable memory for computer work. 128MB is a sufficient size. These are available at Target, and at all office supply and electronics stores. The price is regularly $10 to $20 – don’t spend more. Watch for "Back To School" sales. Bring yours to school every day in your pencil pouch. Save ALL typed homework and school computer work on your stick. Label it with your name.)
  • Internet Access (at home, or ready access to library, Teen Center, tutoring center, office, or other source.) All Middle School students will do significant amounts of homework using the Internet throughout the year.

BRING these list items to school on the first day. LABEL each of these items with the name of the student visible on the outside!

  • Backpack (labeled with your name)
  • Spanish/English Dictionary, and English Dictionary and Thesaurus (labeled with your name)
  • Binder (labeled with your name) – containing lined paper; with Pencil Pouch – containing pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, blue or black pen, colored pen, highlighter, ruler, scissors, memory stick)
  • Lunch container (reusable is preferred; labeled with name)
  • HOMEROOM SUPPLIES (1 box colored pencils or crayons or markers, 1 box white board markers, 1 glue stick, 24 pencils, 1 package lined paper, one package construction paper, 2 boxes Kleenex.)
